Richard Roberts (1931-2021)

We are sad to announce that Richard Roberts, School House 1945-51 and Common Room 1956-67, died on 15 February after a short illness. He was Captain of Boats and Captain of School. He read Modern Languages at Jesus College, Cambridge and returned to teach at King’s in 1956. He was housemaster of Galpin’s 1957-60 and of Luxmoore 1960-67. He was then Headmaster of Wycliffe College and of King Edward’s, Witley. A full obituary will be featured in the Spring edition of the OKS Magazine.

He leaves a widow, Wendy, and three sons Jamie, Ralph and Don, who were all at King’s.

Donations can be made to: Farms for City Children or St Bartholomew’s Church, Orford. Farms for City Children is a charity set up by the author Michael Morpurgo. Michael was a pupil of Richard’s from when he taught at King’s.
