Canterbury Pilgrims Boat Club Update

Report by Ben Loxton-Edwards (MR 1990 - 1995).

A group of twenty Pilgrims met at Westbere on Saturday 22nd September for trial eights (The Whopper v Boothy).

The boys managed to raise two full eights. Both eights were technically adept and had plenty of power and rhythm at the lower rates. In close racing, The Whopper proved faster and secured this historic victory over Boothy.

The girls, Saskia Leigh-Pemberton (née Stirling-Aird, LX 1991 - 1996) & Emily Moor (JR 2012 - 2014) enjoyed a long, productive outing in a double.

It was fantastic to be back on Westbere with old friends. A short prize giving ceremony took place before we headed to the school Boat Club dinner.

The ultimate goal of this activity is to race in the Alumni Eights at the Head of the Charles Regatta, Boston in October 2019. The next outing will take place at Leander in the New Year. Please make contact at hoccampaign2019@gmail.com  if you would like to join us.
