OKS at Canterbury Festival 2020

Year after year, we are delighted to see a number of OKS take part in the Canterbury Festival - a two-week extravaganza of the arts. This year, Canterbury Festival organisers have insisted that 'the show must go on' with restrictions in place to ensure the safety of performers and guests.

Take a look below at the OKS performers this year:

Musical Magnificence  featuring Stephen Barlow (GR 1968-1972) as conductor

  • Wednesday 21st October, 7.30 pm
  •  Great Hall, Kent College

"Musical Magnificence presents an exciting and evocative programme of music which explores different musical styles, textures and colours. From Albinoni, Mozart and Haydn, through to Warlock, Nyman and Morricone, the listener is transported to a musical world of rich varying colours. With the addition of Barber's highly emotive 'Adagio for Strings,' the programme is complete."

Ivo Neame Quartet featuring Ivo Neame (SH 1994-1999)

  • Tuesday 27th October, 7.30pm
  • Shirley Hall, The King's School, Canterbury

"Over the last ten years, Ivo Neame has led ensembles that have performed all over Europe at notable Jazz festivals and venues. The music is an exploration of contrast and represents an ongoing quest to house multiple musical styles and influences under one roof."
