OKS Artwork Features in NYC Public Art Installation

A piece of art designed by OKS Alex Abadjieva (BR 2011-2016) has been chosen as one of 192 pieces to be displayed in a public art installation in New York City.

'The Flag Project' asked people across the world to show their love for New York City by designing flags that would be flown in a temporary art installation outside the Rockefeller Center. The project aims to celebrate creativity and showcase togetherness during the uncertainties of the Coronavirus pandemic. A total of 192 artists were chosen, including well-known artists such as Jeff Koons, Jenny Holzer, and Marina Abramovic.

OKS Alex Abadjieva was delighted to find out that her design has been chosen as part of the project and although Alex does not live in New York, she dreams one day to live there. Alex describes her design as 'a manifestation of New York City's vibrant energy, verticality, diversity, and my personal aspirations.'

If you are an OKS in New York City, make sure you visit the installation from 1-16 August at The Rink at Rockefeller Center (no tickets required). For those OKS around the world, you can take a look at the flags by watching the video below!

You can see all 193 chosen designs by visiting the Rockefeller Center website.
