King's Talk: Nathan Hudson-Peacock

On Wednesday 23rd September, we were delighted to talk to Nathan Hudson-Peacock (MR 2005-2010) for the first talk in a series of 'King's Talks' over Zoom.

Nathan's talk 'Deserts, Mountains & Covid-19: Life as an Expedition Doctor' was focused on his career as a part-time expedition doctor and NHS doctor.

In March this year, Nathan was meant to be providing medical support on a remote expedition through the Wadi Rum Desert in Jordan. But then, COVID-19 struck. Instead, he found himself on the frontline as a doctor working in Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine in two major London hospitals. Indeed, 2020 has not been what any of us expected; the World has had to embrace a new normal, where self-isolation and social distancing have become everyday terms.

This talk is a must-watch for any OKS interested in a career in medicine and health care, but equally, if you are interested in travelling and photography, this talk covers it all. You can watch the talk on-demand at the OKS YouTube channel:
