James Oates (CY 2011 - 2016) Man of the Match in the Sultan Cup

Two goals from OKS, James Oates, helped Great Britain's U21s Men secure their second Sultan of Johor title with a superb victory over India. James, the Hampstead and Westminster midfielder struck twic in the third quarer, assisted on both occasions by team mate Cameron Golden. Despite being temporarily down to 10 men, it was Great Britain who struck again in the 43rd minute as Golden exploited space down the right baseline before an intelligent cutback found Oates unmarked, allowing the Player of the Match to smash in his second goal.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          James Oates was selected to play Hockey for Great Britain last year which is impressive considering he was only twenty. He is also selected for the 2018/2019 Men's EDP Squad. Launched last season, the GB EDP is part of a strategic objective during the Tokyo 2020 cycle to accelerate the development of future medal winning Olympians.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      To read more, please see the Great Britain Hockey website
