Graham Sinclair RIP

Graham Sinclair lost his brave and courageous battle with a long-term illness on 24th June. Our thoughts are with Charlotte, Toby and Charlie and the family.

Graham was in charge of Drama from 2005 to 2014 and Registrar, heading the Admissions team, from 2014 to 2017.

He will be particularly remembered for directing two spectacular musicals in the Marlowe Theatre (old and then new):  Les Misérables  in 2007   and  West Side Story  in 2012. Other productions included Tom Stoppard’s  Arcadia  (he had himself played in the premiere), several King’s Week Shakespeares, Anouilh’s  The Lark  – and much more.

In his valedictory piece for  The Cantuarian , Geoff Cocksworth wrote: “Suave, intelligent, convincing, engaging, funny, a very tall man with a beautiful voice and an incredibly impressive CV, supported by a wonderful and extremely talented family, his wife Charlotte and their two sons, Toby and Charlie, Graham is also a very good man who has the ability to make everyone happy in his presence. His impact on King’s was quite simply enormous.”

There is to be a small family funeral in a couple of weeks and then possibly a celebration of his life at a later stage.
