Carnations Day 2019

The King's Valentine's Day tradition has raised over £2700 for Alzheimer's Research UK

The girl's of Walpole House have once again been busy selling carnations throughout the school for Valentine's Day in aid of charity, raising over £2700 for Alzheimer's Research UK (ARUK).

The event, now in its 27th year, involves the writing and delivering of carnations to hopeful recipients throughout the school. Each year the Walpole girls tie over 5000 messages to red carnations before they are delivered to the school the following morning.

ARUK works tirelessly to defeat dementia, of which Alzheimer's disease is just one of many different types that affect some 850,000 people in the UK today.
