Art for Charity: Jasmine Barcelona (LX 2001-2005)

Currently stranded overseas as a result of COVID-19 travel restrictions, Jasmine Barcelona (LX 2001-2005) is using her spare time and creativity to fundraise for the local community in Negros Oriental, Philippines.

Jasmine is raising funds to provide emergency food packages and basic clothing to families in Negros Oriental, who are unable to work during the COVID-19 Enhanced Community Quarantine in the Philippines. As ‘no work, no pay’ is unfortunately commonplace, a lot of families are struggling to get food on the table during this strenuous time.

To help raise funds, Jasmine has also turned her painting 'Guardian Angel' (above) into postcards which can be sent all around the world. To get your postcard, please make a donation on the JustGiving page, and send Jasmine a message on Instagram:  @smilingbehindthecanvas

A fantastic £5,967 has already been raised and Jasmine was able to spread the fundraising message by appearing on BBC World News on Tuesday 19th May. Well done Jasmine!
