An interview with David Alton examining the remit and workings of the House of Lords, politics and current affairs. The format will be a one-to-one interview as well as an opportunity for the audience to ask questions directly of Lord Alton. 

Lord Alton of Liverpool is a Crossbench Life peer who has sat under this title in the Lords since 8 July 1997. His full title is The Lord Alton of Liverpool, and his given name is David. Prior to joining the Lords, he sat in the Commons as an MP, and was first elected in 1979. He is a visiting professor at Liverpool Hope University: author of twelve books; serves on the House of Lords International Relations Select Committee; chairs the All Party Groups on North Korea and Pakistan Minorities; and is vice chairman of the APPGs on Hong Kong, Burma, the Rohingya and Uighurs.
