King's Society: Guided tour of Maritime Greenwich with Blue Badge guide Viv Haxby

Join Blue Badge Guide, Viv Haxby, for a tour of the spectacular World Heritage Site of Maritime Greenwich. We will travel together by Thames Clipper, and after alighting at Greenwich Pier, Viv will take us on a walk around the area which is steeped in history, telling us stories of the Tudor palace, the Cutty Sark, the Old Royal Naval College and the Royal Observatory. She will take us into the Chapel and tell us about Thornhill’s spectacular wall paintings in the Painted Hall which are undergoing a two-year restoration programme. She will give us a highlights tour of the paintings in the beautiful Queen’s House. After a stop for refreshments at the National Maritime Museum, we will continue on to the lovely church of St Alfege, and finally visit Greenwich Market.

The tour will finish at approximately 4pm following which people can make their own way home either via Thames Clipper or by DLR.
