Cycling Challenge - Paul Barton (staff) & Daniel Bartlette (MR 1991-96) in aid of Against Malaria

They will be cycling 500 miles from West to East, Land's End to Broadstairs,  10-16th August 2010 in aid of Against Malaria.

Their initial aim is to raise enough money to buy 500 mosquito nets, one for each mile covered but with the help of OKS supporters they could probably do much better than that.  If you would bring the Against Malaria Nets Appeal to the notice of any group of people to which you belong (church congregation, local cycle club, colleagues or friends that you invite for a strawberry tea or mosquito-free barbecue) it would spread their collecting net much more widely and haul more money in for the nets that really matter.

Please let us know if you think of opportunities that might be taken along the route or if you have contacts in local press, radio or TV: Penzance-Liskeard-Tavistock-Exeter-Yeovil-Sherborne-Salisbury-Winchester-Chichester-Worthing-Brighton-Eastbourne-Tenterden-Canterbury-Ramsgate-Broadstairs.

You can follow the cyclists on Twitter www.twitter.com/west2eastcycle and, if you want to donate, go to www.againstmalaria.com/west2east or send a cheque to AMF, PO Box 62449, 33 Canada Square, London E14 1HH with the reference AM5935 so that your gift will bring a smile to a pained cyclist's face. For fact-sheet or offers of help, contact Kristina Bartlette: kristina.bartlette@googlemail.com 01227 721345
